Ain't Nothing Like Joe...

And he's back with his sixth album titled, "Ain't Nothing Like Me", which will finally hit stores next week! Guest features include Nas, Papoose, Fabolous, Young Buck, and Dre with productions from Jermaine Dupri, Dre & Vidal, Tim & Bob, Brian Michael Cox, Stargate and Sean Garrett. I've been following his music from his debut album, and Joe is slept on. I know people usually love the single that he puts out...(ALWAYS), but all of his albums are bangers (With the exception of a song or two.) From "All That I Am" to "And Then", I can definitely agree with him, Ain't Nothing Like Joe!!! For the music heads a little to eager to wait for the album to see the tracklist from the album, here's it is:

The "Godmother" Lil' Mo

What can be said about the "Godmother" of R&B?? Besides the fact that her voice is ridiculously serious, only good things. (Besides what's being put in the media now.) When she first entered the music industry, we all had our eyebrows screwed up, asking "who is this chick with these blue braids??". Regardless of her outer appearance, her voice was off the hook. She killed that song with Faboulous, "Superwoman Pt. 2". The welcome she received from the public and the community of music artists made the long wait worth her while. Lil' Mo's 2001 debut album, Based on a True Story, was a success (This album was so serious, I bought it 3 times...it's definitely a Young Jeezy feat. R. Kelly situation...*Go Getta*). The singer penned every track but one, "Time After Time," which was originally recorded by another rainbow-haired crooner, Cyndi Lauper. Lil' Mo has collaborated on "Hot Boyz" with Missy Elliott, and Elliott subsequently became a trusted advisor and friend. Lil' Mo also collaborated with Ja Rule on his "Put It on Me," and is featured on "Parking Lot Pimping" by Jay-Z. She has performed with, or written songs for, a long list of artists that includes Blackstreet, Next, Lil' Bow Wow, Keith Sweat, 3LW, and ODB.

Unfortunately, not everyone was as thrilled with Lil' Mo's success as she and her friends and collaborators were. Just before her debut was set to hit record store shelves in the summer of 2001, a man attacked the singer in San Francisco just outside the Warfield, a theater where she had just finished a performance. He used a champagne bottle to club the singer's head, and Lil' Mo ended up with almost two dozen stitches. A majority of the publicity appearances scheduled for the following month, which had been specially timed to coincide with the release of her debut, had to be canceled until she regained her health. Despite the after effects she suffered, the singer persevered and continued to sing and write. Months later, Lil' Mo started working on air at Baltimore's radio station WXYV, where she remained until leaving in June of 2002 to devote more time to her career. The next year, Lil' Mo prepped for the release of Meet the Girl Next Door (Another serious one, definitely a Young Jeezy feat R. Kelly situation *Go Getta*). She wrote every song on the album except for one; the first single, a duet with rapper Fabolous, "4Ever" was a springtime smash. ~ Linda Seida, All Music Guide

**Press Play on the player, it's a track from her debut album, "Based on a True Story" titled "My Story", a track from her sophomore album, "Meet the Girl Next Door" titled "Why Do We Fall In Love". As well as one of her latest tracks titled "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" featuring Miri Ben Ari**

Album Review

CONSEQUENCE
DON'T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB!

From being that kid in the old Busta Rhymes video, to guest starring on A Tribe Called Quest's "Beats, Rhymes and Life", Dexter Mills aka Consequence, finally finds a home with Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music family. The mystery is, can he make it passed probation or will he be back in the Indie line again?

This album is quite interesting. It scratches the surface concept of "College Dropout". It represents the life of the department store working, minimum wage making, aspiring rapper who dreams of making it in the rap game. "How did I get stuck in this dead end job when I can rap?", he asks himself on the once again Nautilus sampling "Job Song". Regardless of the redundant loop of keys, Quence manages to drop a jewel for those in the same boat.

As the story unfolds, you get to know what its like when the Banana Republic security guard punches out. His girl (or ex-girl) is giving him problems, so who better to get to help him out than John Legend on the cool radio friendly "Feel This Way." Unfortunatly for Consequence, his help outshines him, maybe purposely, but anyone listening to it will think this song belongs to Legend. Then there's the beef with "Uncle Rahiem" who came outta jail after a 10 year bid and stays over to make trouble. Despite the tight situation he's in, he manages to state his case over a head-nodder produced by the late J. Dilla's right hand man Kareem Riggins.

Consequence is a good rapper who knows how to tell a story and deliver punchlines. If there's any wrong doing with this album, its the production that doesn't fit his style, such as the Luther Vandross ripoff of "Love Won't Let Me Wait" on "Who Knew My Luck Would Change".....just a bad idea. Let's not forget the unnecessary album fillers "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly", and DJ Khaled's "Grammy Family". Maybe if Kanye did for Quence what he did for Common's "Be", Dex can quit with his middle finger up and never look back!

MzAttaTood1: His albums only have gotten better since the first one....

RoOkie: A few songs on here remind me of his previous work...

MzAttaTood1: Most definitely....I kind of pick up continuations from his previous albums... Like Ms. Philadelphia sort of reminds me of Womanopoly...

RoOkie: Greatestlove reminds me of Whoknows...

MzAttaTood1: But it's not like a redundant sound...that I can automatically pick up on...

RoOkie: What separates the songs from other albums, is his incredible writing skills...

MzAttaTood1: With his words, I can pick up that he definitely understands a woman's worth...

RoOkie: This is in no way, shape or form a cliche of anything else. He's in a class by himself...

MzAttaTood1: I agree...Throughout his career, I don't think I ever compared him to another artist...
MzAttaTood1: THAT TRACK BETTERMAN...

10 Years Later...Still Unbelievable!!!

It hurts me to write this, but as a person who idolized and looked up to Christopher Wallace, aka Frank White, Big Poppa, and better known as The Notorious B.I.G., it's only right I speak my mind about the King of New York.

"It was all a dream" At 12 years old, ya boy Rookie was a heartthrob never, considered black and ugly as ever. For others who were in the same boat, Biggie showed us how to love ourselves and go for what we know, no matter what. Well at least that's what he taught me.

In the 5 short, unforgettable years of his career. B.I.G. gave us his vivid tales of sex, money, power and respect. His rhymes were simple, but very clever. It was like he didn't even have a pattern for writing his rhymes, he just said whatever was on his mind while sticking to the subject at hand. He gave us style, showed us how to hustle, and opened doors for alot of new hip hop artists. Regardless of genre of music, he seemed to fit in them all. The soulful "Playa Hater", West Coast banger "Going Back To Cali", the laid back "Big Poppa", and who can forget how he outdid Bone Thugs N' Harmony's style on "Notorious Thugs".

I can go on and on and on about the Greatest of All Time (and I don't mean LL Cool J...no disrespect), but his legacy will never die.
